Another member of the Vitamin B family, B5 is another important vitamin because a deficiency of this vitamin can have a negative, inhibiting effect on the body’s ability to break down fat effectively.
Contrary to what you may have thought or heard, some fat is actually essential for the body, but whenever too much is consumed, it the fat cells of the body swell and expand in order to cope with the increased amounts. This results in weight gain and therefore we must curtail our calorie intake if we are to shed the pounds.
Choline, produced by the liver is also used to help breakdown fat, and a deficiency of choline means that the fat deposits soon accumulate in the liver, and this in turn causes serious problems for the liver as the normal functionality of the organ becomes severely compromised. If left untreated, toxins will steadily accumulate within the body and can ultimately reach the brain, resulting in significant co-ordination problems and ultimately death.
Weight loss should be a priority for us all, but remember, prevention is better than cure and so by carefully regulating your diet and the calories you eat then you can save yourself a lot of hard work further down the road.
