Sometimes we take wall clocks for granted. We always see the typical round clock with black minute and hour hands is schools, offices and some homes, and we really never give a second thought to them.

However, in recent years these clocks have evolved into highly accurate time pieces, as well as beautiful pieces of art work that home decorators highly treasure. Today’s clocks have shed their image as boring one dimensional objects just used only to give us the time. If you’ve ever seen a retro wall clock, neon wall clock or art deco clock, you’ll know what I mean.  Sure, they are important as they help us keep track of important meetings and upcoming events, but they are much more than that today. A wall clock can be considered an art piece that can be displayed on any wall to give the room a new dimension.

Because of its unique designs, wall clocks are highly visible so there is nothing that takes away from its functionality.  Another great thing about wall clocks is that they are very easy wall accents to place. All you need is to do is hammer a screw into a wall and set the clock.

These clocks are usually light weight (even the metal wall clocks, like the aluminum and titanium ones) and do not require it to be pounded into a stud in the wall. Of course the heavier types like the pendulum wall clocks may need a stud.

The wall clock you choose really depends on the existing furniture and accents in the room. If you have a modern room than look for a contemporary clock. Likewise if your home is more traditional than perhaps a wood wall clock of some type will fit best. But most important in choosing a wall clock is that you find one that fits your personality and style.  As I mentioned, a wall clock is like an art piece and choosing one for your home is largely a reflection of your taste and style.
